Digital united with analogous
(Hamburg, 16.03.2021)
The pandemic year indicated an addition of digital elements on a professional level to brand and product communication. To our client Back Shop this means using mutual and integrated actions for show room and live presentations. But mind out:
also digital experiences need high quality spatial experience, so instead of lowering demands of the video medium they are on the rising. We see an optimal addition for many other challenges: product training, presentation of operation and innovation, a lot is much better put across through video and therefore a professionally illuminated and designed presentation space is absolutely essential. As well for audiences on site as via streaming with ready to use technology. Anyway - in perfect line with the brand!
Spread the smile.

A shed of creativity
at the Euroshop
Inventing, tinkering, problem-solving – the creative way!
(Hamburg, 01.07.2020)
MIKS is exhibiting in 15 m² of designated space within the “Designers Village”, a presentation space for architects and designers with innovative design concepts. What makes MIKS stand out among all the other houses in the village? Creativity. Which building is the one where the creativity happens? The shed! Many details go into this basic idea, and we utilise these to design the interaction, the personal encounter and the attractiveness for posts on platforms like Instagram. The shed – a place to get lost in ideas and gain inspiration as well as a place of retreat and other quiet moments – serves as the stage for MIKS’s work. In the sense of a quotation, the artefacts that fill it are mostly “recessed” into the wall or emerging from it. They’re not entirely there – just the idea of something. What objects, activities or feelings do you associate with a creative shed? We are capturing answers in text and drawings.
We are celebrating
20 years of MIKS
(Hamburg, 06.11.2019)
Why do people actually celebrate anniversaries? This is a question founder and managing director Michaela Kruse asked herself! Journalist Wulf Rüskamp says, “...for many, only round anniversaries are an occasion to deal with the past.” Fine, so let’s have a look at the past for our 20th anniversary: two entrepreneurial personalities, the family team, values, commitment, happiness, longevity. In fact, now come to think of it, we find that what actually happens here every single day is really good. That’s reason enough to celebrate.
Equality // “Here it makes no difference whether you are male or female, young or old, or what your nationality is.”
Cohesion between colleagues // “Cooperative to friendly.”
Interesting tasks // “Varied, versatile and always something new.”
Career/Further education // “The company puts demands on its employees, but also supports them; internal and external training programmes are offered. Employees can suggest training programmes which are then paid for by the company.”
Work-Life-Balance // “Due to the industry, there are times when the work volume is high. But efforts are always made to find an appropriate balance and offer it to the employees.”
Salary / employee benefits// “Good work is well rewarded. And beyond that, the company endeavours to offer employee benefits.”
Blue – natural.
Bionade shines in raw MDF
(Hamburg, 15.03.2019)
‘A really good quirk of nature’ – MIKS has been able to directly translate the brand’s claim, philosophy, and appearance into a new trade fair look. Bionade and Ti come as a team but present themselves as two individual brands at the Biofach, where natural-coloured and blue MDF surfaces and lovingly placed vintage elements take centre-stage. The new booth was even featured in the newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung – now that’s what successful live communication looks like!
Yellow + blue = harmonious
A class-reunion-style event with good vibes.
(Hamburg, 11.01.2019)
The Fruit Logistica in Berlin is where fruit producers from around the globe meet, and with its family atmosphere, lots of room for talk, and everyone excited to see each other, it definitely feels like a class reunion. The ideal setting to frame the event is created by the newly designed space for the banana brand CHIQUITA. Though the name translates as ‘little girl’, make no mistake: the lady is all grown up, and that’s perfectly visualised in her vibrant and exciting brand space. Ceiling panels, walls and elements reminiscent of banana plantations are decoratively overgrown with plants. The notion of ‘framing’ should be taken quite literally here, as information and activities in connection with the fruit giant are provided in presentation frames on all four corners of the booth. MIKS has successfully translated the striking colours into a welcoming and professional spatial concept for live communication. A motivational cheer from Global Marketing Manager Chris Lazaro to our second Managing Director Murat Yilmaz: ‘The bar’s been set higher than ever before.’

Atmospheric brand presence for Palmberg
(Hamburg, 26/10/2016)
Once again MIKS has organised the trade fair presence of the office furniture manufacturer PALMBERG Büroeinrichtungen + Service at this year's ORGATEC in Cologne, the leading trade fair for office and design worlds. Under the motto "rethinking
work", the Hamburg agency for communication in space developed the fair stand concept and was likewise responsible for its implementation. Substantial, yet transparent: here MIKS found a new formula across a total area of 1200 m². The
outer shell design is impressive, comprising numerous cardboard tubes in different sizes and arrangements, held in steel frames and attached to the wooden framework, made from untreated fibreboards. In this way, natural materials, which
also have a link to the products from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, created a warm and emotive atmosphere and also provided a sense of approachability. This theme was continued at the stand with plants hung overhead and green walls.

Brand presence combines people and technology
(Hamburg, 23/09/2016)
For the third time in a row, MIKS designed the brand presence for the global market leader Bombardier Transportation at InnoTrans 2016 in Berlin. With a strikingly emotive design, the presence for this year is based on the interplay between
people and mobility. Across an area of around 1000 m², visitors, both the operators of mobility solutions and their users (i.e. passengers), were shown the actual benefits of the products and technologies. The claim at the heart of
the design, "Building the future together", was brought to life. This was achieved through the use of six oversized photo installations, including quotes, in which people, cities and products from the global
market leader were pictorially and conceptually combined into a single entity. Furthermore, a graphically stylised skyline and three central theme islands with numerous interactive presentations formed the framework for an open and
empathic customer approach.
